Shadow Palette

Image via Our Mismatched Life

Everyone knows how much I LOVE makeup! I enjoy wearing it and love how it can change your look with just a color of an eyeshadow. I also really like putting on makeup, it's a very therapeutic routine for me. I remember when I was younger, taking a few of my mom's eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks to play dress up. I always ended up looking a clown but it was one of my favorite things to do and still is. As a lot of girls out there, I have quite a bit of a collection of eyeshadow colors from all sorts of brands and I just keep adding more and more. I can never have enough that's why I especially love makeup palettes. You can get so much makeup in just one case from eyeshadow, lipsticks to blushes. I like to change up my eye shadow colors as often as possible and this great palette from Nordstrom I received as a gift definitely gives me a good selection to choose from.

Not only are the colors really great but the texture and durability is a plus. I quite particular when it comes to how well eye shadows blend and how long they will stay throughout the day. Let me tell you this is probably one of the most long lasting eyeshadow palettes I've used and trust me I've been thru a lot. I really recommend this Nordstrom palette, it's my one stop shop for my makeup needs. Check out the other palettes from Nordstrom

DIY Inspiration: Dannijo

I recently came across this line of jewelry via the Man Repeller and now I'm completely obsessed. Made and designed in New York by sisters, Danielle and Jodi, all the pieces are simply divine. Though most of the pieces are out of my budget, its time to DIY. Check out some of my favorite Dannijo pieces below.

Yummy Pancake

You know, sometimes you just crave a pancake. Not a whole batch, just 1. Notice that pancake is not plural. Yes, thanks to Joy the Baker's recipe, I was able to make just one pancake. Let me tell you, it was amazing. I think I'll do this more often and immediately after go to the gym.

My Travel Diary: Sweden Fashion

While on my vacation, I couldn't help but keep an eye out on the fashion in Sweden. European style is very unique and very trendsetting for sure. It was great to see what people were wearing and to take some inspiration from their style. Not only were the women rocking unique styles but the men were really giving the women a run for their money. I really feel like the men were much more fashionable and really were setting some great trends which I hope filter to the states.

...Rebecca...

Starting with my observations of women's fashions, what seems to be a popular trend are long & short dresses paired with tennis shoes specifically converses in all different colors. Another trend I noticed was a lot of neon accessories such as scarfs, shoes and jewelry. I love the style of tennis shoes mixed with a feminine dress, it balances it with a very androgynous look. I think it also may have to do with comfort too since the majority of the people in Sweden walk everywhere. I really loved this look and was totally inspired to dust off my converse shoes.
Below are some pictures of the style I observed on the women in Sweden.

Maxi dress paired with light blue aqua colored converse tennis shoes...
Short dress with red high top converse tennis shoes...

Long maxi dress with tennis shoes...
Long dress with bright neon orange tennis shoes...
Skinny pants with bright yellow tennis shoes...

Now for the men's fashions which I really loved and hope it will makes it way to the states, it will have the ladies swooning over them. I saw a repeating trend of mixing formal with casual by pairing blazers with either colored jeans or pants along with tennis shoes, work boots or even loafers. It felt like preppy meets hipster which totally worked and had me doing double takes. Another trend I observed were form fitting skinny shorts with a slight roll at the ends topped with a crisp linen or plaid button down dress shirts. I even caught a glimpse of men rocking a tied sweater over their shoulders giving it more of a preppy polo look. There was also a hipster feel with guys rocking skinny pants with work boots and smooth leather jackets, great look! I did a triple take on that look. I was pleasantly surprised how fashionable the men were in Sweden, they definitely take the award on fashion trendsetters in my book.
Check out some pictures of the fashionable men of Sweden.

Rustic orange colored pants paired with a beige blazer...
Skinny jeans with a plaid dress button down shirt and loafers...
Rolled shorts with a long sleeve and button down dress shirt & converse high tops...
Loafer shoes paired with shorts or cropped skinny pants...

One more tidbit about the footwear fashion in Sweden, one of the most popular types of shoes are clogs. They have them in all colors and designs, they their most comfortable form of footwear for lounging, biking or casual outings. I was very tempted to get the skull clogs because I love skulls so much!

DIY: Spread the Love

I'm on this kick right now with making some jewelry out of wire. I took some inspiration from the seeing cute wire rings made with words such as "love", "hope" or "wish". So with my latest DIY I wanted to make a love ring. It was very simple I just took a long enough piece of wire and began twisting the wire to the shape of the letters and worked my way until the end. I would measure in between to make sure it was still within the size of my finger to ensure it would fit nicely. Below is picture of my inspiration and then my creation to spread the love.

To spend or to save?

I've been eying these Dolce Vita sandals for a quite sometime now, but while cruising the local Target the other day I came across these bad boys. Minus the small heel, backing and gold toe, they are a pretty close match. I do love the more expensive version, that's always my problem. Do I spend or save? That is the question.

Orange-lime Margaritas

Last week I received my copy of the much anticipated, Cupcakes and Cashmere book! Having been a fan of Emily's for quite some time, I knew that her book would be nothing short of fabulous. While hanging by the pool this yesterday, I thought it would be the perfect time to try out her Orange-Lime Margaritas. Paired with some homemade guacamole, these bad boys did not disappoint. I loved the citrus-y taste and how there isn't so much sugar in them. Try them out. Trust, you will love them.

Andrea

Word of Mouth: Mendocino Farms

I'm late to the game on this one, but still wanted to try it. I have to say, right when you walk into the restaurant, it's a little overwhelming! The menu is pretty big and I felt pressured to hurry up and make a choice because the waiters are all up in your face. Thankfully, I made a good choice. My friend on the other hand would probably make a better decision on her next visit. Check out the goods below.

This picture doesn't do it justice. Such a great alternative to very much friend chicken sandwich. Highly recommend.
"Not So Fried" Chicken

Eh. This was just lacking some flavor. Thank god for the jalapeno relish. Just pour a whole bunch of that stuff on anything and it will be amazing.

Hats off to Summer

Image via Forever 21

With the sun in your eyes sometimes you need more than just sunglasses to help block those sunshine rays and hats are just the right accessory. I recently purchased the fedora hat shown above from Forever 21 which I'm dying to wear while out in the sun. It didn't make it on my trip Sweden but I'm so looking forward to rocking it once I get back home. Another reason I love hats is for the days were your hair is just not cooperating and the only thing to make you feel some what better is to wear a hat. It works wonders to cover up your bad hair or lazy hair days. I would like to expand my hat collection and so far I've seen some really cute ones out there, below are a couple I'm into for the summer.
