THE PEAKS...
Just like old times:

Damn weather!!!:
Seriously, the weather! Do I need to say more, it's hot then cold and windy then cloudy. It's like I'm having hot flashes! I can't keep up and neither can my sinuses! -Rebecca
Getting nailed:
Discovering I had 2 nails in my car tire and having to go thru the whole repair patching process! Bummer and waste of time! -Rebecca

DIY: Get Wired

Lately, I've been seeing a lot of cute and simple wired jewelry pendants around in stores so I thought I would try to see if I could make my own for a fraction of the price. So I made a quick run to Joann's Crafts store for some materials and tools so I could get started which you can also get a Michael's too.

Tools Needed:

Rounded Tip Pliers

Thin Wire

Small Jump Rings

Necklace Chains

First step for me was thinking of what I wanted to do which was the initial "R" for my name. After I knew what I wanted to make, I cut enough wire using scissors then I started with the edges using my rounded tip pliers and worked my way to make the shape until I was finished. There are no real steps it's basically just bending the wire as you go along to make the design you want. I just went with the flow of the wire and did my own thing until I felt it looked good as shown below so do what you want and wired...

Thin wires in gold and silver...

Use rounded tip pliers to twist and bend your wires...

Twist ends towards which ever side you want so the edges are curled...

Voila!!! The edge is curled and now I can finish working on the rest of the letters shape...

Continue twisting the wire until you get your end product which for me was "R" and I made it in gold and silver...

To link the wire pendant onto a necklace I added these small jump rings...

I got extra inspired and made an infinity symbol pendant...

Word of Mouth: Golden Road Brewing

On Monday, Alex and I took this approach to date night. I loved how spontaneous it was, since its always nice to change-up the routine. We met up at Golden Road to drink some booze and enjoy some eats. I loved the atmosphere of this location. It is a very open space with a laid back vibe, just what I was feeling on a Monday night. Below are the selections we decided on, I would definitely get the Sloppy Joseph again, very tasty.

Experience Cartier...

So as I was enjoying my typical Sunday night watching Celebrity Apprentice (don't judge it's one of my guilty pleasure shows) and just as I was about to hit the fast forward button to skip over the commercials, I caught a glimpse of the TV to see the words...Cartier. Those words were just enough to get my full attention for the next three and half minutes as I watched the debut of "L'Odyssée de Cartier" commercial. It was more than just another Cartier commercial, it was a mini film as it beautifully showcased the company's timeless pieces and history as a way to celebrates it's 165th anniversary. It begins with the signature diamond panther breaking free as it takes you thru the different chapters of the history of Cartier: First Breath, Land of the Tsars, Love and Trinity, The Celestial Dragon Joins the Menagerie, Indian Dream, Conquering the Skies and Panther. Each scene the panther journeys to portrays a classic design of Cartier's iconic signature pieces and ends with the panther joining the beautiful supermodel, Shalom Harlow in the city of Paris where Cartier was founded in 1847.

This unique commercial took an entire two years to develop and three months to film with a crew of 60 people to make sure it embodied what Cartier is all about. It was directed by Bruno Aveillan who is well known for creating amazing commercials for other major luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton and the original score was done by Pierre Adenot a renowned orchestrator. I was so impressed at their creativity as they incorporated their signature pieces in each scene and just overall how beautiful the images were throughout the entire commercial. I've always admired Cartier's designs and would just love to own a piece of their jewelry someday so seeing this artistic film was just over the top amazing, I was completely mesmerized! French Toast Bread Pudding

I am usually not a fan of bread pudding, I judged it before even tasting it. It always looked like a bland and mushy dish with no texture. I mean, I didn't even try my Weeta's infamous bread pudding. That all changed yesterday when I used this recipe from the Barefoot Contessa. This dish was just the perfect amount of sweetness and was not mushy at all. A  slice topped with some powered sugar and maple syrup was just delightful. Such a perfect way to celebrate a birthday brunch.

Wearing your favorite shoes to the ground. Literally. The most comfiest shoes that I now have to get re-soled. Doubt they will ever feel the same. - Andrea

Four Eyes

Up until last year when I got laser eye surgery, I had worn glasses since I was in the 6th grade. Lately I have been missing glasses like crazy. I just love that they can change up a whole look. It also didn't help when I saw the J.Crew Fall 2012 presentation, seen here. I may just have to fake it with some of the options below. What do you all think about faking it, is it a go or a no?
